FT Building Maintenance Tech (Essex County, NJ)

Salary Range: $22.00 To $25.00 Hourly

We are looking for a skilled, self-motivated
General Handyman to support our facilities across Essex County. You will operate a company-provided vehicle to handle day-to-day repairs, preventive maintenance, general facility tasks, and respond to occasional on-call maintenance requests.

• Travel from site to site in Essex County in a company-provided vehicle to complete assigned tasks.
• Perform preventive maintenance on-site, including proactive tasks such as HVAC filter changes.
• Assist with minor plumbing repairs, such as unblocking sinks and clearing drains.
• Handle minor electrical repairs, including replacing light switches, outlets, and fixtures.
• Respond to emergency or urgent on-call maintenance requests as needed.
• Investigate facility issues and implement effective solutions.
• Determine the necessary tools and equipment needed for individual repair or maintenance jobs.
• Prepare clear reports of completed and pending work.
• Support general site cleaning, space prep, or furniture setup duties as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

• Valid Driver’s License with a reliable driving record.
• Flexibility to be on call for urgent maintenance needs.
• Hands-on experience using basic hand/power tools and small commercial/mechanical equipment.
• Physical ability to regularly lift and carry items up to 75 lbs.
• Proficient with work order management systems and basic computer skills.
• Functional literacy and numeracy skills to inspect delivery notes, double-check measurements, and track inventory.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
