Job Goal:
To maintain the grounds/facilities in a condition of cleanliness and operating excellence so that students and staff will be furnished with an attractive and comfortable educational environment.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One to two years of related commercial grounds or maintenance experience is preferred.
- Must be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing and painting.
- Hold a valid Class B CDL Ohio drivers license with a clean driving record at the time you are applying for this job.
- Applicant must currently have a commercial pesticide/herbicide applicators license in Categories 5, 4 C or E, 6A, C, 8 and 10 or have the ability to obtain the license within 60 days of employment, or employment will be terminated.
- Ability to operate snow removal equipment such as plow trucks, tractors, and blowers in a safe manner.
- This job may require mandatory overtime.
- Ability to load equipment on trailers and tow to various school sites in a safe manner.
- Demonstrate understanding of all phases of work to be completed in a commercial environment with multiple sites and buildings.
- Demonstrate ability to organize and complete work projects.
- Ability to communicate in written and verbal form to correspond with departmental personnel and administration.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Ability to run sprinkling systems throughout the district on athletic fields and read schematic drawings.
- Ability and knowledge to operate, repair, and maintain commercial lawn care and landscaping equipment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of working with various hand tools and power tools in a safe manner.
- Required to lift, carry, push and pull various supplies and/or equipment up to a maximum of 50 pounds, in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
