We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician / Controls Specialist to support the ongoing reliability, performance, and efficiency of our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for maintaining plant equipment, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, supporting automation controls, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Perform maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of plant machinery, building systems, and production equipment to ensure maximum operational uptime.
- Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities on a wide range of manufacturing equipment and support systems.
- Upload, download, configure, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs and associated process instrumentation.
- Support and maintain automation systems utilizing Siemens Step7 / TIA Portal and Allen Bradley RSLogix/RS5000 platforms.
- Interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals to identify and resolve equipment issues.
- Assist with the assembly, wiring, and installation of machinery control panels in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions using precision testing and measurement tools.
- Maintain and repair motors, conveyors, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, and other production-related equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and daily maintenance rounds, including monitoring and supporting fire protection and safety systems.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Process Engineering, and fellow Maintenance team members to improve equipment performance and production efficiency.
- Engage with production employees to identify opportunities for process improvements and operational enhancements.
- Utilize the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to create, update, document, and close work orders accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in compliance with company safety standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Support plant initiatives related to reliability, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing practices.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
- Strong experience with Siemens Step7 / TIA Portal and Allen Bradley RS5000 software highly preferred.
- Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capability.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with SAP and computerized maintenance management systems preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
