FT Maintenance Worker I or II
The City of Pattersons Public Works Department is seeking to fill (1) one full-time Maintenance Worker position within the Streets division and to establish an eligibility list. Duties include but are not limited to:
Under supervision performs routine manual labor, maintenance, and repair tasks while learning to perform a full range of semi-skilled work required in maintenance, repair, operations and construction of related facilities, parks, and services; performs other duties as assigned.
Successful candidates will be placed on an eligible list that may be used to fill future vacancies in the Citys Urban Forestry, Parks, Streets, Collections and Building Maintenance Divisions. Eligible lists may be valid for up to twelve months.
Completion of the supplemental questionnaire is required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATIONMust have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
EXPERIENCE Maintenance Worker IOne (1) year of experience performing manual labor in public works, recreation, building, janitorial, landscape, grounds maintenance, or construction, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, related to the assigned area of division.
Maintenance Worker IITwo (2) years of experience performing manual labor in public works, recreation, building, janitorial, landscape, grounds maintenance, or construction, comparable to those of a Maintenance Worker I in the City of Patterson, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, related to the assigned area or division.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATESPossession of a valid California Class C Drivers License. Possession of a valid California Class B commercial driver's license within one (1) year of appointment, that must be maintained as a condition of continued employment, all divisions except Building Maintenance.
Maintenance Worker IIIn addition to the above:
When assigned to Streets:
Possession of a Grade 1 certification or higher in Collection Systems Maintenance issued by the California Water Environment Assication (CWEA) is desirable.
