Salary: $4,672 per month or $56,064 annually (WS-02, Step
A).
The Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). the State of Hawaii seeks a Groundskeeper II who supervises and participates in manual work in groundskeeping as a major work assignment. Supervises the work of a crew in performing manual work in the cleaning, care and maintenance of landscaped grounds and adjacent areas.
Responsibilities- Supervise the work of others in the cleaning, care, and maintenance of landscaped grounds and adjacent areas.
- Participate in performing a variety of manual work in groundskeeping as a major work assignment.
- Experience and Training: Two (2) years of full‑time work experience in the care and maintenance of grounds and other landscaped areas, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Knowledge of: Care and cultivation of shrubs, flowers, trees, and lawns; use, care and operation of grounds maintenance equipment such as power mowers, edgers and trimmers, and hand tools used in grounds maintenance work.
- Ability to: Assign and supervise the work of others; keep time and attendance records; gain the cooperation of others; understand and follow oral and written instructions; operate and use grounds maintenance equipment and hand tools; perform lifting, carrying and other manual work typical of the class.
- Physical Requirements: Applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of the position effectively and safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Driver's License: Applicants must possess a valid driver's license to drive in the State of Hawaii at the time of appointment.
- Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Clearance - Federal Criminal History Records Check: Applicants considered for positions that require unescorted access to secured airport areas must undergo a pre‑employment fingerprint‑based criminal history record check, with no convictions of disqualifying offenses in the prior ten years.
- Legal Authorization to Work: The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the state government to be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.

Testing InformationThe examination for this recruitment will be conducted on an unassembled basis where the examination score is based on an evaluation and rating of your education and experience.
