The Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). the State of Hawaii seeks a Groundskeeper II who supervises and participates in manual work in groundskeeping as a major work assignment. Supervises the work of a crew in performing manual work in the cleaning, care and maintenance of landscaped grounds and adjacent areas.

• Supervise the work of others in the cleaning, care, and maintenance of landscaped grounds and adjacent areas.
• Participate in performing a variety of manual work in groundskeeping as a major work assignment.

• Experience and Training: Two (2) years of full‑time work experience in the care and maintenance of grounds and other landscaped areas, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Knowledge of: Care and cultivation of shrubs, flowers, trees, and lawns; use, care and operation of grounds maintenance equipment such as power mowers, edgers and trimmers, and hand tools used in grounds maintenance work.
• Ability to: Assign and supervise the work of others; keep time and attendance records; gain the cooperation of others; understand and follow oral and written instructions; operate and use grounds maintenance equipment and hand tools; perform lifting, carrying and other manual work typical of the class.
• Physical Requirements: Applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of the position effectively and safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Driver's License: Applicants must possess a valid driver's license to drive in the State of Hawaii at the time of appointment.
• Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Clearance - Federal Criminal History Records Check: Applicants considered for positions that require unescorted access to secured airport areas must undergo a pre‑employment fingerprint‑based criminal history record check, with no convictions of disqualifying offenses in the prior ten years.
