Lead LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair) Technician
What You’ll Do
- Lead, train, and mentor EMM Apprentices (Leak Detection & Repair, LDAR) and Level II Technicians in the field.
- Oversee and execute Leak Detection & Repair (LDAR) and other emissions monitoring activities.
- Calibrate and maintain monitoring equipment (FID/PID analyzers, OGI cameras) to ensure accuracy.
- Monitor components in industrial environments to detect emissions from process equipment.
- Communicate findings, leaks, or potential issues to site operations and maintenance personnel.
- ConductLDAR audits and review team work for accuracy and completeness.
- Participate in large client projects, audits, and launch initiatives.
- Ensure daily upload of monitoring data and reporting into customer databases.
- Maintain team competency on P&, tablet usage, and safety protocols.
- Uphold and enforceall safety standards; report incidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions.
- Experience:
5+ years in environmental monitoring or industrial compliance (chemical plants, refineries, or related industries). - Education:
High school diploma or GED required. - Technical
Skills:
Experience with OGI cameras, FID/PID analyzers, and emissions monitoring equipment. - Technical
Skills:
Familiarity with LDAR programs, P&IDs, and compliance documentation. - Technical
Skills:
Basic PC skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel). - Soft Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Soft Skills:
Ability to lead teams and make decisions in the field. - Soft Skills:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. - Other:
Must be at least 18 years old. - Other:
Reliable transportation; ability to travel occasionally. - Other:
Willing to work extended hours, weekends, or out-of-town assignments as needed.
- Field work in industrial environments with potential exposure to fumes, chemicals, and extreme weather.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and climb scaffolding or work at heights up to 300 ft.
- Use of personal protective equipment, including respiratory protection and hearing protection.
- Moderate to high physical exertion for extended periods.
