The Assistant Emissions Foreman is a field leadership position responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and compliant operation and maintenance of emissions control equipment across Apache's US Onshore operations. The role provides daily technical and operational leadership to Emissions Technicians while working closely with the Maintenance Manager, Production Operations, Environmental, Engineering, Automation, and contractor partners.

The Assistant Emissions Foreman combines hands-on technical expertise with field leadership responsibilities. This position supports the Maintenance Manager in coordinating emissions maintenance activities, developing personnel, managing work priorities, improving equipment reliability, and ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely and in accordance with applicable environmental requirements and Apache standards.

Emissions Maintenance & Equipment Reliability
  • Provide technical leadership for the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of vapor recovery systems and emissions control equipment.
  • Support preventative and corrective maintenance activities to maximize equipment availability and minimize emissions-related downtime.
  • Troubleshoot recurring equipment problems and recommend appropriate repairs, equipment modifications, or reliability improvements.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of vapor recovery systems, production equipment, and associated emissions control devices.
  • Assist Production Operations and other field personnel with troubleshooting and proper operation of emissions-related equipment.
  • Identify equipment performance trends and opportunities to improve reliability, maintainability, and operating efficiency.
Field Leadership & Work Coordination
  • Provide daily direction and technical support to Emissions Technicians.
  • Coordinate and prioritize field maintenance activities based on safety, environmental compliance, equipment condition, and operational needs.
  • Support the Maintenance Manager with planning, scheduling, and execution of emissions maintenance activities.
  • Help coordinate technician coverage, contractor resources, equipment, and materials required to execute maintenance work.
  • Monitor work execution and ensure completed work meets Apache safety, environmental, and quality expectations.
  • Provide field leadership during equipment failures, urgent repairs, and other emissions-related operational events.
Environmental & Regulatory Compliance
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable state and federal emissions requirements and Apache's approach to environmental compliance.
  • Support compliance activities associated with applicable EPA, TCEQ, RRC, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with Environmental personnel to address equipment-related compliance issues and maintenance priorities.
  • Support Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) activities, including use of Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) equipment and associated documentation as required.
  • Ensure identified emissions equipment deficiencies are appropriately documented, prioritized, communicated, and corrected.
  • Maintain complete and accurate maintenance and field documentation needed to support environmental reporting and compliance activities.
  • Assist with regulatory inspections and field reviews as requested by the Maintenance Manager or Environmental personnel.

  • Coordinate contractor activities associated with emissions equipment maintenance, repair, inspection, and field services.
  • Monitor contractor performance to ensure safe, efficient, and quality execution.
  • Review contractor daily tickets, service documentation, and invoices for accuracy and appropriate charges.
  • Promote efficient use of contractor labor, materials, and company resources.
  • Support bidding, contractor evaluation, and procurement activities as requested by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Assist with monitoring operating costs and identifying opportunities to improve maintenance cost effectiveness.
