The Maintenance Technician must be able to independently identify and resolve facility-related issues through skilled work in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and HVAC systems. They must ensure all areas of the building and grounds are clean, safe, and well-maintained, including performing regular landscaping, lawn care, and snow removal. The role requires effectively conducting personnel relocations and setups, assisting contractors and vendors to ensure quality work, and providing input on facility improvements.

Essential Job Functions

  • Independently identifies and resolves building and equipment problems by performing various job duties such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and HVAC work
  • Reviews contractors and vendors as they relate to facility operations and providing input on facility improvements
  • Performs immediate cleaning duties necessary to maintain building, grounds, and facilities, making sure all areas are clean, safe, and well maintained
  • Performs lawn maintenance, landscaping, and snow removal
  • Gathers information to provide recommendations on improvements/modifications to direct supervisor
  • Performs duties related to office relocations, including desk set ups
  • Assists vendors and contractors to ensure their work is correctly performed with quality work and completed in a timely manner,
  • Conducts corrective action and preventive maintenance
  • Understands the proper use, disposal, and hazards of chemical materials (e.g., paints, wood primers, roof coatings, caustic acids, etc.).
  • Completes building audits and safety inspections, performing necessary corrective action or reporting items to necessary personnel
  • Completes maintenance work orders and follows up with requestor
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Typically requires 0-2 years of related experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Basic ability to:

  • Communicate effectively in both oral and written form
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry practices
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Work as a team member and follow directions
  • Maintain and care for hand and power tools

Basic skill in:

  • Managing one’s own time and the time of others
  • The use of standard tools and equipment of the profession
  • Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
  • Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed
  • Problem Solving Skills, Attention to Detail

Pay Range :

  • $19.23 -$25.00 hourly
    • This range is based on the expected level of experience and skills for this position. Final compensation will depend on individual
