Custodian

Job Overview

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

• Perform janitorial duties and all duties listed on the daily schedule
• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of the assigned area
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees
• Maintain a clean work area
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
• Fill in during staff shortage
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment
• Present a professional appearance and conduct
• Understand customer service and satisfaction
• Understand reporting systems and the environment

Education and/or Experience: No specific education requirement; 3-6 months training or experience preferred, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: May be required to have a valid driver’s license. Completion of safety and task training certification may be required. Forklift certification may be required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bilingual is a plus; ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents; strong verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment; knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe use; knowledge of upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Schedule:

Sunday – Thursday, 9:30 pm – 6:00 am

Pay: $13.75–$14.75 per hour
