As a partner in the public mental health system, TSH provides inpatient services for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. While your role will be ensuring our facility's boilers and related equipment produce steam and operate as needed to provide adequate heat and hot water for the Hospital, all staff receive and maintain certification in basic crisis intervention techniques to create an atmosphere of mutual respect, trust, and safety for patients and employees.

Description of WorkAs a Utility Plant Operator 2, you will be responsible for skilled work in the daily operation and maintenance of steam boilers and auxiliary equipment. Your work will be critical for ensuring an uninterrupted supply of heat and hot water for the operation to Hospital buildings.
Duties include:
- Operating boilers and related equipment to ensure a continuous and controlled production of steam.
- Leading shifts by distributing and interpreting work assignments, assisting other Utility Plant staff in repair and service tasks, demonstrating proper work methods, and reviewing work for adherence to standards
- Performing routine, systematic maintenance, checks, and tests and maintaining accurate records.
- Enforcing all safety policies, regulations, laws, rules, and procedures required in the Power House.

Work Schedule and Additional Information- Full‑time employment
- Work hours are second shift: 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Wednesday – Sunday. Overtime as required and subject to emergency call‑in.

Qualifications
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Utility Plant Operator 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of semi‑skilled work experience in the operation, maintenance, or repair of industrial, commercial, or institutional utility plant systems and related equipment; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes six months of semi‑skilled work experience in the operation, maintenance, or repair of industrial, commercial, or institutional utility plant systems and related equipment.

- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
