Overview
Are you experienced in maintenance and passionate about creating clean, safe spaces for others? The Maintenance Repairman 2 position with the Department of Human Services, Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services offers a hands‑on role that keeps the Loysville Youth Development Center running smoothly. You will work on meaningful tasks that support the safety and comfort of residents and staff. This job lets you use your trade skills in many areas and grow your experience each day.

Skills:
Perform carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, masonry, and related repair tasks - Equipment Use: Operate and maintain tools, machinery, and vehicles needed for daily work
- Building Maintenance: Repair fixtures, install materials, maintain systems, and support facility upkeep
- Grounds Care: Complete lawn care, snow removal, and other outdoor maintenance duties
- Safety Compliance: Follow regulations, maintain tool accountability, and report missing items immediately
- Full‑time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday‑Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch break
- This position is considered essential during weather and other emergency events
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non‑negotiable
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);
or - Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades;
or - Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- You must be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License

- You must be able to perform essential job functions
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance
