Under the moderate direction of a supervisor, performs general cleaning duties within dormitory, office, and other public facilities areas.

• Pick up and dispose of trash, including the proper handling of recyclable materials.
• Dust and sweep or dry mop.
• Wet mop and/or spot mop.
• Operate walk-behind or ride-on floor machine, wet vac, and carpet extractor.
• Cleans glass: all inside areas that can be safely reached.
• All entrance glass, including doors, inside and out.
• Sanitizes washrooms, showers, and toilet facilities (dormitories only).
• Fills all dispensers in restrooms.
• Vacuum and clean carpets and walk‑off mats.
• Wash walls, woodwork, light fixtures, inside of windows, and other glass.
• Remove snow, ice, and clean or pick up debris such as leaves and paper around entrances and fire exits (including fire escapes dormitories only) from steps and walkways generally within ten feet of buildings.
• Report any damage or malfunction of equipment observed within assigned areas to immediate supervisor or work control.
• Perform other duties assigned within the normal scope of the department’s responsibilities and the individual’s capabilities.

• Ability to follow both verbal and written directions.
• Ability to interact with customers (students, faculty, administration), co‑workers, and supervisors in a positive and helpful manner.
• Must be able to climb ladders, bend and reach, and lift up to 60 lbs.
