Custodian - Miller's Smorgasbord Restaurant

Job Summary

The restaurant custodian facilities member is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the inside and outside areas of the restaurant during peak dining times. This full‑time seasonal position has a standard work week of 12 PM‑8 PM, Wednesday to Sunday, working less than 26 weeks per year from June to December.

• Empty trash and manage waste disposal properly.
• Report larger maintenance or repair needs to appropriate personnel.
• Greet guests or visitors and provide assistance or directions.
• Assist with guest inquiries and provide information about the facility or local area.
• Deliver supplies to departments from stockroom.
• Monitor premises for safety hazards and report any concerns.

• Physical stamina; must be able to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and stand for long hours.
• Attention to detail; commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
• Reliability and dependability; ability to follow instructions and manage time effectively.
• Basic mechanical skills useful for minor repairs and equipment troubleshooting.
• High school diploma or equivalent; prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

The employee must frequently use hands or fingers, handle tools, stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. Occasional lifting or moving of up to 50 lbs is required. The noise level is usually low to moderate.
