Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for managing all aspects of the maintenance department. This includes managing the upkeep of all manufacturing assets, managing maintenance budget, resources and assisting in the design and installation of new systems. In addition, this position is responsible for maintaining company's grounds and buildings.

Essential Duties

Safety & Compliance

  • Implement and enforce workplace safety policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure all maintenance operations comply with company policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain facility compliance with all applicable industry regulations and standards.
  • Ensure company premises and facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, and hygienic condition.

Leadership & Personnel Management

  • Train, supervise, and develop maintenance employees.
  • Schedule and assign daily work activities for maintenance personnel.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.

Maintenance Planning & Reliability

  • Develop and maintain maintenance processes for all critical equipment.
  • Record and compile historical maintenance data, including:
    • Root causes of failures
    • Equipment downtime
    • Repair durations
    • Labor hours expended
    • Materials and parts utilized
  • Analyze maintenance data to identify failure trends, predict equipment issues, and determine Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF).
  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for critical equipment based on reliability data and operational requirements.

Inventory & Asset Management

  • Manage maintenance parts inventory to ensure adequate stock levels and minimize equipment downtime.
  • Monitor repair part usage and forecast future maintenance material requirements.

Vendor & Contractor Management

  • Negotiate and manage contracts with external vendors and contractors for maintenance services.
  • Coordinate and oversee third-party maintenance activities to ensure quality, safety, and compliance.

Facility Maintenance

  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of company facilities and infrastructure.
  • Ensure facilities remain operational, safe, and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Competencies

  • Strong computer skills including MS office & Global Shop.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

Qualifications

  • Education:

    High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience:
    • Maintenance experience

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Heavy industrial worksite environment
  • Exposure to outdoor elements, extreme heat and cold, dust, chemicals, and loud noise
  • Standing for extended periods; lifting, bending, crouching, climbing, and working in confined spaces
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Safety-sensitive position; subject to pre-employment and reasonable-suspicion drug testing
