Plumber Position

Clemens Food Group is looking for a hands-on, highly skilled Plumber to support the plumbing, mechanical, production, and facility systems that keep our operation running safely and efficiently.

Schedule:

1st Shift | Thursday through Sunday | 5:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

2nd Shift | Sunday through Wednesday | 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

3rd Shift | Monday through Friday | 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

What You'll Do:

As a Plumber, you'll provide hands-on plumbing and mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous-improvement support throughout our production and facility operations.

  • Troubleshoot plumbing and mechanical equipment, perform root-cause analysis, and complete the appropriate repair
  • Repair, maintain, and improve plant equipment in production and facility-support areas
  • Operate drain-cleaning equipment, including Eel and Jetter machines
  • Thread steel pipe and solder copper pipe to support plant repairs and projects
  • Gather detailed operational information on large systems and complex machinery to support in-depth troubleshooting
  • Read and interpret basic pipe drawings, equipment information, and system documentation
  • Maintain accurate prints, notes, and other documentation for existing and future plant systems in a shared location
  • Troubleshoot facility equipment with minimal assistance and work with Operations to safely return systems to service
  • Communicate critical equipment and system issues to departmental supervision in a timely manner
  • Train fellow plumbers on complex systems and new technology while supporting departmental projects and training activities
  • Stay current on new plumbing methods and technology while supporting continuous improvement throughout the department
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout, HACCP, cross-contamination, PPE, quality, and all applicable safety procedures while maintaining a clean work area

What We're Looking For:

We're looking for a plumber who brings strong technical ability, sound judgment, reliability, teamwork, and the right mindset for a fast-moving plant environment.

You should have:

  • Strong plumbing and mechanical troubleshooting ability, including root-cause analysis
  • Ability to operate Eel and Jetter drain-cleaning equipment
  • Ability to thread steel pipe and solder copper pipe
  • Basic understanding of pipe drawings and system documentation
  • Ability to troubleshoot at least 50% of facility equipment with minimal assistance
  • Strong documentation and recordkeeping habits, including basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Effective teamwork, communication, organization, and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to recognize workplace hazards and work safely around production and maintenance equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds routinely and walk throughout the plant for the duration of the shift outside of regularly scheduled breaks
  • Flexibility to work fluctuating hours and provide coverage outside normal work hours based on production schedules, holidays, and PTO needs
  • Ability to follow HACCP requirements, departmental cross-contamination guidelines, safety rules, quality-assurance guidelines, PPE policies, and applicable RTE procedures

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous industrial plumbing, mechanical maintenance, or related plant experience
  • Manufacturing, food-processing, or similar production-environment experience
  • Experience supporting both production equipment and facility systems
  • Experience training others on complex systems and using shared maintenance documentation
