Building Maintenance, Maintenance Worker

Maintenance and Operations Coordinator
Ensure that all facilities, materials, and equipment are maintained and in good repair for program use. Create a regular schedule for cleaning and maintenance of facilities and equipment. Complete assignments where furniture, toys, or other equipment need assembled or repaired. Assist in completing minor repairs within classroom centers, satellite offices, and the main office. Purchase necessary items as needed to fix or repair equipment, toys, or other materials.
Complete light custodial work such as vacuuming and shampooing carpets at the main office or satellite offices. Complete indoor/outdoor painting as needed. Assist in moving classroom furniture and materials to/from other sites and storage units. Assist with keeping storage units organized and cleaned. Assure that all center playgrounds have an appropriate level of mulch. Communicate to direct supervisor the amount of mulch to be ordered for each site.
Lift, move, carry, and otherwise transport tools, equipment, and supplies weighing up to 75 pounds. Coordinate building operations to include performing general maintenance, as well as communicating with outside agencies on the installation, repair, renovation, and construction projects. Assist classroom sites with packing and unpacking of classroom materials as needed. Clean and maintain vehicles, deliver vehicles for inspection/maintenance as directed by supervisor.
Oversee community and volunteer workers that are assisting with different maintenance and cleaning projects. Perform seasonal yard work to include weeding, line painting of the parking lot as well as the shoveling and salting of entryways and walkways as needed. Complete other maintenance projects as assigned by the program director or direct supervisor. Attend meetings/conferences and training sessions for staff development purposes related to the project goals.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Individuals must possess these skills, knowledge, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. Knowledge of painting, landscaping, basic building construction/renovating, and carpentry. Ability to present oneself in a professional manner to include personal appearance and a pleasant demeanor to others. Ability to flex hours based on seasonal needs and other requirements within the position. Ability to move, push, pull, or carry equipment, furniture, and supplies up to 75 pounds. Ability to perform with efficiency and a high level of accuracy in all assigned duties.
Ability to visually inspect building surfaces to determine areas to be cleaned and maintained. Ability to climb and descend stairs and ladders while carrying equipment and supplies. Ability to drive agency van or bus for worksite travel requirements. Ability to transport trash, equipment, and supplies to and from the vehicle/building. Ability to effectively operate an electric equipment and vehicles. Ability to perform first aid and CPR.
Qualification Standards:
Education:
High school/GED diploma required.
Experience:
Demonstrated skills in landscaping, building maintenance/construction/renovation, painting, and carpentry. Experience working directly with youth preferred. License:
Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License required.
