The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is seeking a Park Maintenance Worker who enjoys hands-on tasks and fresh air. This role gives you the chance to improve facilities and natural areas that thousands of visitors enjoy. Your work will help parks operate smoothly and look their best every day.
Descriptionof Work
This position supports the overall operation of park facilities by performing a wide range of maintenance tasks across grounds, buildings, trails, and equipment. As a Park Maintenance Worker, you will perform the following duties:
- Facility Cleaning: Maintain restrooms, empty trash, remove litter, and clear drains and culverts
- Grounds Care: Mow and trim grass and weeds, remove invasive plants, and maintain trails
- Basic Repairs: Repair or replace plumbing fixtures, electrical components, and other park systems
- Equipment Operation: Operate mowers, trucks, and other vehicles while recording fuel use and equipment hours
- Tool Maintenance: Use and maintain hand and power tools such as chainsaws, generators, and saws
- Support Tasks: Assist with hazardous tree removal, storm cleanup, painting, staining, and general repairs

Work Schedule and Additional Information- This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment March 2027.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. Days and shifts will vary due to the seasonal nature of the position.
- Overtime and travel may be required. Holidays and weekends are required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Condition of Employment:
- This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
