Janitorial Worker

The Janitorial Worker maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment by performing a variety of general cleaning and housekeeping tasks in rooms, common areas, bathrooms, and offices throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform general janitorial duties to maintain cleanliness and order throughout the facility.
• Clean and sanitize unoccupied rooms to prepare them for future use.
• Clean and disinfect common areas, including hallways, lounges, and shared spaces.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
• Clean offices and work spaces, including dusting surfaces and removing trash.
• Vacuum carpets and rugs in rooms, offices, and common areas.
• Wash windows and glass surfaces to maintain a neat and professional appearance.
• Collect, remove, and properly dispose of trash and recyclables from designated areas.
• Replenish basic supplies in restrooms and common areas as needed.
• Follow cleaning procedures and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for visitors and staff.
• Report any maintenance or safety issues observed during cleaning duties.

Essential Skills

• Experience performing general janitorial duties.
• Experience with housekeeping tasks in a facility or similar environment.
• Ability to safely handle cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Ability to complete repetitive physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting during the shift.
• Attention to detail to ensure all areas are thoroughly cleaned and maintained.
• Reliability and consistency in completing assigned tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in janitorial or housekeeping roles.
• Comfort working in a setting that serves youth groups and community organizations.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong sense of responsibility for cleanliness and presentation of the facility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Quarryville, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $14.00 - $18.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
