Maintenance Supervisor

Schedule:
1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Supervisor to oversee daily maintenance operations in a manufacturing environment. This individual will play a key role in coordinating maintenance activities, supporting production, troubleshooting equipment issues, and providing direction to a team of maintenance technicians. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys working alongside their team, solving technical problems, and keeping equipment operating efficiently.
The Maintenance Supervisor will work closely with the Maintenance Manager to address immediate maintenance needs, improve equipment reliability, and support ongoing department initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities, previous leadership experience, and the ability to take ownership of daily maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily maintenance operations, including assigning tasks, establishing priorities, and monitoring job completion.
- Lead morning maintenance meetings to review production requirements, equipment concerns, scheduled maintenance, and staffing needs.
- Provide hands-on assistance with equipment breakdowns, troubleshooting, repairs, and technical challenges.
- Diagnose and repair industrial machinery and equipment involving electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime.
- Monitor maintenance work orders, scheduled PMs, and outstanding repairs through the department's CMMS system.
- Partner with Production to prioritize repairs, address equipment concerns, and maintain efficient operations.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and daily direction to maintenance technicians.
- Ensure maintenance activities are performed safely and in accordance with established procedures.
- Identify recurring equipment issues and assist with root cause analysis and long-term corrective actions.
- Communicate maintenance priorities, equipment concerns, and resource requirements to department management.
- Support equipment upgrades, maintenance projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure all completed work is properly documented.
- Participate in department meetings, safety discussions, and cross-functional planning activities.
- Help strengthen the overall capabilities of the maintenance team through coaching and knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical training, trade school, or an associate degree in Industrial Maintenance or a related discipline preferred.
- Significant experience performing industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting capabilities.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, motors, industrial controls, and manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to independently diagnose equipment failures and determine appropriate repair solutions.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, mechanical blueprints, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency using multimeters and other common industrial maintenance tools.
- Previous experience in a maintenance leadership, supervisory, or lead technician capacity preferred.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS);
MaintainX experience is beneficial.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a hands-on approach.
