Job Summary
18.00 per hour. It is the intent of the basic job requirements, duties, and responsibilities that any building be kept neat and clean at all times. These minimum requirements should be referred to as a guide, rather than a limitation to the services required to maintain a building effectively. Staff will be required to perform the necessary work to maintain the optimum level of cleanliness in every building or worksite serviced by Flag Ship Facility Services, Inc.
EssentialFunctions
- Floor work and carpet care duties and responsibilities, including scrubbing, stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extracting, and mopping.
- Review assignment(s) with Supervisor.
- Gather necessary/required equipment and products.
- Wear safety belts while performing each work assignment.
- Inform lead person of completed assignment(s).
- Record time worked and products used.
- Use wet floor signs at all times, including work on both carpets and tile.
- Inform lead person immediately of any problem or situation that prevents completion or causes substandard work.
- Adhere to all company safety rules and regulations at all times; no exceptions. Violations will result in disciplinary action.
- Keep company vehicles safe, neat, and orderly at all times.
- Perform any other related duty directed by the president, vice president of operations, or operations manager.
- Maintain a neat appearance. Provide a clean and neatly worn uniform at all times.
- Attend periodic training and safety meetings.
- Follow directions and perform work as instructed.
- Follow building maps to locate work areas.
- Be punctual.
- Knowledge of basic floor care duties and responsibilities.
- Knowledge of and ability to operate floor care equipment (automatic scrubber, buffer, shampoo machine, extractor, wet vacuum, carpet pile lifter and vacuum).
- Knowledge of proper use and application of floor care products.
- Good listening and verbal communication skills.
- Some positions require the ability to speak English.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent. 1‑3 years of experience in commercial facilities and building maintenance.
Work EnvironmentSmall‑to‑large office environment. Safety glasses required while performing certain tasks. Fast‑paced office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise. Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments and shop environments.
Requirements- Be able to pass criminal background requirements.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, and possess and maintain a good driving record.
Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear. Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time, including walking long distances. May occasionally lift and/or move a minimum of 50 pounds of office and facilities equipment (pumps, tools, ladders) and safely install rigging/lifting devices.
Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
