Facility Painter

Job Overview

Amentum is seeking a 2nd shift Facility Painter in Peoria, IL. Typical work hours are 2nd Shift Mon‑Fri 3:00pm to 11:30pm; hours may vary based on business demand. The Facility Painter will be tasked with various sized painting projects throughout the facility, including the pre‑painting preparatory work.

• Interior prepping and painting of office spaces, hallways, rest rooms, closets, and meeting rooms.
• Dry wall patching and mudding, and wallpapering or patching as needed.
• Exterior painting including doors, railings, bollards, walkways, and striping.
• Epoxy floor installations.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Ability to regularly lift up to 50lbs.
• Climb extension ladders, roof ladders, stepladders, and stairs at least ten times during a shift.
• Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and move repetitively throughout a shift.
• Move in a 90‑degree fashion repeatedly during a shift.
• Stretch and reach repetitively during a shift.
• Walk extensively throughout the plant during a shift.
• Use a Company/Client approved utility knife.
• Differentiation of paint colors.
• Repetitive wrist movements.
• Interact with all clients professionally and friendly, even under stress.
• Conduct training of others when required.

• Minimum five years of experience as a residential or commercial painter.
• Experience repairing drywall.
• Experience operating man‑lifts and ladders.
• Experience hanging and patching wallpaper.
• Experience taping off trim.
• Experience trimming out a room.
• Must pass a medical evaluation for respirator use and a fit test for each required respirator type.
• Must be meticulous and produce high‑quality work.
• Experience installing various types of epoxy floors.

$40.00 per hour (actual compensation may vary based on experience, responsibilities, and market data).
