Position Summary
Effingham County is seeking a dependable Custodian/Housekeeping professional to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in county facilities. This position is responsible for cleaning offices, restrooms, and common areas while ensuring high sanitation standards.
Key Responsibilities- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust facility areas
- Clean and disinfect restrooms and high‑touch surfaces
- Empty trash and maintain cleanliness in offices and common areas
- Clean windows, furniture, and fixtures
- Maintain breakroom and kitchen areas
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies
- Follow safety procedures when using cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Report maintenance or repair needs
- Janitorial or housekeeping experience preferred
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail
- Ability to safely handle cleaning equipment and chemicals
- Physical ability to perform routine cleaning duties
