System Operator

Responsibilities

• Ensure that safety commitments in compliance with OSHA, Symbotic, and our customers’ processes and procedures are met daily.
• Monitor system performance and the availability of both personnel and automated robotic vehicles.
• Work with the customer to schedule and produce orders and receive inventory.
• Troubleshoot system stoppages and determine the best course of action to maintain system uptime.
• Effectively communicate and troubleshoot software issues with off‑site Symbotic software engineers and on‑site management.
• Operate the system via the custom GUI and ensure safe operation.
• Plan daily activities and coordinate system maintenance with maintenance personnel and the Automation Manager based on daily needs of warehouse operations.
• Maintain accurate logs of major events.
• Become the on‑site software expert with an excellent understanding of system interrelations and consequences.
• Assess the cause of automated robotic vehicle failure, examine log files, take detailed notes, and alert service personnel.
• Assist and train other automation team operators in troubleshooting and repairs of any equipment as required, consistent with level of experience and training.
• Communicate with tier support to drive system production.
• Perform other duties assigned by leadership.

• Minimum of 3 years in a computer or automation environment.
• Ability to direct and guide employees in daily standard work.
• Effective, detail‑oriented communication skills.
• A desire to learn new equipment and assist team members as needed.
• Accepts critical feedback and recognition positively.
• Ability to multi‑task and perform multiple job functions simultaneously.
• High sense of urgency.
• Proficiency in written and verbal English.

Work will involve climbing steep stairs, working near high railings, and exposure to variable weather and temperature conditions (32°–105°F). The employee must be able to work at heights up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches. Tasks include lifting items weighing up to 50 lbs, moving items up to 80 lbs, standing or walking for 10–12 hours, and performing frequent reaching, kneeling, and other repetitive movements.

Proper PPE such as hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, safety glasses, ear protection, and fall protection (including harnesses) must be worn in construction sites.

The base pay range for this position is $27.00 – $30.00 per hour, subject to variation based on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Compensation includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401(k), PTO, and other benefits.
