Jr. Machine Mechanic

Overview

Englert has been the gold standard and a leading manufacturer of metal roofing and gutter systems. We are actively seeking a Jr. Machine Mechanic to support operations day to day in a safe and timely manner. As a Jr. Machine Mechanic, you will be responsible for interfacing and supporting our field sales representatives and customers. Reporting directly to the Machine Service Manager.

• Operate out of our Perth Amboy location and assist with warehousing operations.
• Travel to other locations to assist mechanics with overflow work, open houses, or as a fill-in for vacations in critical situations; travel to customers  workshops and job sites; 30% travel required.
• Provide specialized technical support to customers who own and operate pro-table roll-forming equipment, gutter and roofing machines. Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain and train users in the equipment.
• Write service reports, provide billing advice, and maintain good notes in our Infor system for each customer interaction.
• Respond to and/or investigate material claims in your territory as requested by our corporate technical support group.
• Schedule and monitor tickets, and reach out to customers for parts needed.
• Provide billing statements for work performed.
• Maintain customer account information in the Infor system.
• Roll-forming equipment setup, training, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Participate in end-of-year inventory cycle counts.
• Assist sales representatives in presenting equipment to prospective buyers.
• Act as liaison between field sales reps and the technical services group on machine issues; and between clients and corporate services on quality issues.
• In-house maintenance and repair: perform routine service tasks and assist with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs on machinery at our facility.
• Equipment prep: ensure machines are clean, lubricated, and properly staged for production or field deployment.
• Inventory management: organize and track spare parts and specialized tools.
• Technical documentation: assist in documenting repair logs and service reports.
• Shop support: assist Senior Machine Mechanic with prep work and equipment testing prior to site installations.
• Learning & Development: actively train on PLC systems, 3-phase power, and hydraulic calibration.

• Must be able to operate a forklift.
• Understanding electrical and mechanical schematics is a plus.
• Strong communication skills.
• Fluent in Spanish is a plus.
• One year or more of experience in mechanics in a manufacturing and/or industrial environment.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma; AS or AA degree preferred.
• Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, and welding is a plus.
• Experience with machinery.
• Experience with roll-forming is a plus, not required.

• Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and wear safety equipment as required.
• Lift 50–100 pounds with assistance; walk, climb, stoop, stand, push, and pull in a loud, industrial environment.
• Walk and stand on concrete for up to 6–8 hours per shift.
