Growing food manufacturing company in Sonoma County is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead all maintenance and facility operations at its production facility.
This leadership role is responsible for ensuring optimal equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, facility performance, and workplace safety. The successful candidate will oversee maintenance technicians, preventive maintenance programs, capital improvement projects, vendor relationships, and facility systems while partnering closely with Operations, Quality, and Production teams to support efficient manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management- Lead, coach, and develop a team of maintenance technicians.
- Establish performance expectations and accountability standards.
- Coordinate technician assignments and maintenance priorities.
- Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance reviews, skills assessments, and training initiatives.
- Develop and manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
- Ensure maximum uptime and reliability of manufacturing equipment.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Manage CMMS systems, work orders, asset tracking, and spare parts inventory.
- Monitor maintenance KPIs, including downtime, PM compliance, and maintenance costs.
- Oversee building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, refrigeration, and fire protection systems.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate inspections, permits, and vendor services.
- Support sustainability and utility management initiatives.
- Partner with Quality and Operations teams to support GMP, HACCP, and food safety compliance.
- Assist with audits, inspections, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and compliance documentation.
- Ensure maintenance activities align with sanitation and food safety standards.
- Develop and manage annual maintenance and facilities budgets.
- Control vendor expenses and spare parts inventory.
- Lead capital improvement projects, equipment upgrades, and facility enhancements.
- Manage outside contractors and service providers.
- Implement reliability-centered maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and cost reduction.
- Standardize maintenance procedures and documentation.
- Support long‑term operational excellence initiatives.
- 3+ years of maintenance leadership experience in food manufacturing, food processing, beverage, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or related manufacturing environments.
- Experience managing maintenance teams and facility operations.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, PLC, HMI, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated systems.
- Experience with CMMS software and maintenance planning systems.
- Working knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, OSHA, and FDA regulations.
- Proven experience managing budgets, vendors, and capital projects.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
