** Job Overview
** The Automotive Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of the company's fleet of pickup trucks, service/utility vehicles, and light-duty equipment. This role ensures that all on-road vehicles are safe, reliable, and ready to support daily field operations across all departments.
** Responsibilities and Duties
*** Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on light-duty trucks, vans, and utility vehicles, including oil changes, brakes, tires, suspension, and electrical components
* Diagnose and repair automotive systems such as engines, drive trains, electrical, steering, and fuel systems
* Conduct DOT-compliant inspections and ensure fleet vehicles meet safety and regulatory standards
* Complete accurate documentation of repairs, diagnostics, and parts used in fleet management system(s)
* Assist with ordering, receiving, and managing inventory of automotive parts and shop supplies, as needed
* Support seasonal maintenance needs, including preparing vehicles for winter operations and post-season inspections
* Troubleshoot breakdowns and perform occasional field repairs, if needed
* Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas; follow company safety requirements and OSHA guidelines
* Collaborate with the fleet team to prioritize repairs and maintain vehicle uptime
* Other duties as assigned
** Job Requirements
*** High School Diploma or GED
* At least 1 year of experience as an automotive technician or fleet mechanic
* Strong understanding of automotive systems: electrical, brakes, suspension, and drive trains
* Proficiency with diagnostic tools and scan equipment
* Valid drivers license; CDL Class A, preferred
* Own basic tools needed to perform repairs
* Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
