From $54,000.00 per year
Your local North Central Michigan College is seeking an individual with leadership skills and maintenance/custodial experience to lead our "small but mighty" afternoon crew of custodial and maintenance staff. There will be indoor and outdoor duties. Most students and faculty are not on campus during the summer season. We do not currently have a night shift.
Full-time position includes benefits listed below and is paid a salary. If your schedule doesn't support the full-time position, we'd still love to chat about your availability for a potential part-time/alternative structure.
Part-time would not include health/retirement benefits and would be paid an hourly rate.
If leadership isn't your "jam", we have maintenance and/or custodial positions available as well.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Physical Plant Supervisor is a second shift position that has primary responsibility for custodial processes, procedures, staff, scheduling, maintenance of custodial equipment and devising methods for maintaining and continuously improving custodial services throughout the college. The Physical Plant Supervisor facilitates and performs work functions and assigns work as needed. Additional responsibilities include assisting with oversight of overall physical plant functions throughout North Central Michigan College as well as overseeing physical plant operation in the absence of the Physical Plant Director.
DUTIES:
* Schedules, assigns, prioritizes, supervises and reviews the daily work of Physical Plant staff throughout the College Campus consistent with approved standards.
* Identifies resources, establishes work procedures relating to custodial duties, and reviews processes and procedures.
* Enters, inspects, approves, and closes complete Physical Plant work orders and assigns work and/or revises assignment of work across all Physical Plant functions.
* Assists the Director of Physical Plant in developing the 5-year plan for the Physical Plant department. Participates in planning meetings held by the Director of Physical Plant.
* Assists in developing and executes a snow removal plan that assures a safe pathway for handicap and non-handicap accessibility.
* Works efficient, in a manner not to disturb the functions of the college.
* Ensures and communicates a safe environment for occupants/bystanders in close proximity to work being done.
* Ensures proper and safe cleanup of work areas when a project is finished and at the end of each shift.
* Responsible for repairs and maintenance and related procedures on equipment utilized in Physical Plant operations.
* Participates in the hiring, selection, training and orientation of Physical Plant personnel.
* Establishes performance criteria, monitors and assesses the performance of subordinates; conducts annual performance evaluations; and makes recommendations for disciplinary actions to address performance deficiencies following college policies and procedures.
* Orders cleaning supplies and maintains supply and equipment inventory; checks and verifies deliveries; and participates in the planning of custodial supply and capital equipment budget line items.
