We are currently looking for a Janitorial Laborer to join our dynamic, fast-paced, and growing team. This role involves a variety of tasks to support our operations, including collecting trash, recycling, and cleaning surfaces in heavily used areas. The ideal candidate will have the ability to maintain clean and organized work areas. As a Janitorial Laborer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment by following safety protocols.

This position requires a high level of physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

What You Will Be Doing

• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
• Clean the interior of buildings in designated areas that include restroom/locker rooms, large and small office rooms, lobbies, kitchens.
• Cleaning around machinery and cleaning of shop floor
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, mops, and other custodial tools safely and effectively.
• Follow facility cleanliness standards
• Accurately document completed work and report issues, safety concerns, or supply needs to supervision in a timely manner.
• Maintaining a thorough inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs as well as unsafe conditions.
• Disinfect high touch surfaces and shared spaces.
• Empty trash and recycling bins.
• Sort and dispose or segregate waste streams, report and suspected hazardous materials.
• Safely handle, store, and use cleaning chemicals in accordance with Safety Data Sheets and company procedures.
• Respond to minor spill and report hazardous conditions per protocol.
• Stock and maintain supply rooms.
• Knowledge of and following all health and safety regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Background

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• US Citizenship required
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Excellent time-management skills and multitasking abilities
• Good Communication skills
• Good Organization skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team

The Work Environment at Rhoads

• The performance of this position involves exposure to construction or industrial areas where the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hard hats and hearing protection is required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks and lift heavy objects 50 lbs. plus.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to sit for long periods of time.
