Maintenance Mechanic Lead

The Facilities Management Service (FMS) of the Phoenix VA VA Medical Center is recruiting for a Maintenance Mechanic Lead. The incumbent is a working leader that leads employees in performing and planning work.

Duties include but limited to:

* Leads any or all assigned employees (primarily carpenters, locksmiths, painters, maintenance mechanics, labors) for any specified time frame, dependent upon the type of project or task to be accomplished.

* Checks work in progress and advises other employees of instructions and deadlines received from supervisor.

* Assist supervisor in the development of policies and procedures.

* Procure materials needed by other workers using approved procurement methos such as using a government credit card.

* Assist supervisor with the administration of the preventative maintenance program.

* Responsible for managing the shop tool crib: issuing tools, performing periodic inventories, conducts shop meetings, takes attendance, assigns work, distributes mail, etc.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
