Instrument & Controls Tech II - Water Reclamation

About the Position

The Instrument and Controls Technician II position installs, maintains and repairs measuring and control devices used in industrial, commercial processes and Water and Wastewater facilities.

Anticipated starting salary may be up to the midpoint based on experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and the midpoint for this position is $39.22 per hour.

• An Associate’s Degree with major coursework in electronics technology, electrical technology or a related degree from an accredited educational institution.
• Four years of experience performing installation, repair and maintenance of complex electrical equipment, including two years of troubleshooting and staging of instrumentation hardware, software and related equipment, and two years of maintaining proper documentation (permit, calibration records, procurement contracts, financial budgets and reports) for regulatory requirements.
• Any equivalent combination of education and/or job‑related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.

• Experience in a water/wastewater plant or facility.
• Successful completion of a four‑year training at a journeyman level on industrial instrumentation equipment repair for medium and low‑voltage controls.

• Possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted driver’s license with no major citations within the past 39 months. Arizona Department of Motor Vehicles requires out‑of‑state licenses to be surrendered within 10 days of relocation to Arizona.
• Obtain a Grade I operator certification from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality in Water Treatment or Wastewater Treatment within six months of hire or promotion. Maintain certification throughout employment.
• Employee must reside in Arizona during active employment, regardless of remote‑work approval.
