Maintenance Tech FT Nights
USPI Arizona Specialty Hospital is currently hiring a Maintenance Tech FT Nights. Shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 6:00 pm – 7:30 am.
Job SummaryUnder the direction of the Hospitality Services Director, Facilities Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician performs a variety of routine to skilled general preventive maintenance duties in the repair, alteration and modification of building equipment, and facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities- Inspects equipment and facilities for proper operation and working conditions, and maintains routine equipment inspections and repairs as necessary.
- Adjusts, disassembles, repairs or replaces parts or components, and tests for proper operation.
- Reports more serious problems to the supervisor for further instructions or maintenance scheduling.
- Uses snakes, augers, or plungers to open clogged drains.
- Troubleshoots and replaces TVs, remote controls, nurse call lights, etc.
- Proficiently uses standard hand tools, a voltmeter, and an ampere meter.
- Performs a variety of routine manual duties such as repairs and assembly of carts and furniture, replacing fluorescent ballasts and tubes, cleaning and lubricating motors and other machinery.
- Clears sinks and grease traps, assembles non‑medical equipment.
- Moves supplies, furniture and equipment, and removes trash and scrap materials as required.
- Conducts routine safety and preventive maintenance inspections to ensure that services are maintained without interruption.
- Adheres to dress code; appearance is neat and clean.
- Maintains regulatory requirements and patient confidentiality at all times.
- Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time.
- Wears identification while on duty and uses the computerized time system correctly.
- Completes in‑services and returns in a timely fashion.
- Attends annual reviews and department in‑services as scheduled.
- Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
- Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
- Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the facility, as well as the focus statement of the department.
- High school graduate; technical or trade school preferred.
- Six months experience in general maintenance preferred.
- General knowledge of plant maintenance.
- Knowledge of tools and their use.
- Knowledge of equipment used in hospitals.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Works with little or no supervision and takes verbal instructions.
