Job Overview

The Phoenix at Opelika is seeking Housekeepers to join their team!

Responsibilities
  • Perform all housekeeping activities such as dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, laundry, shampooing carpets, scrubbing bathrooms, cleaning counters, taking out the trash, and cleaning windows.
  • Restock common area bistros and bathrooms, resident rooms and bathrooms with appropriate paper products and hand soap.
  • Follow detailed cleaning worksheets/checklists for each room and common area.
  • Prepare cleaning solutions by mixing water and detergents in proper containers.
  • Use chemical cleaners and power equipment according to procedures to prevent damage.
  • Clean community common areas and resident rooms (floors, walls).
  • Steam clean or shampoo carpet.
  • Dust furniture, walls, machines and equipment; move furniture as needed.
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors with soapy water or other cleaner, sponges, squeegees.
  • Adjust heating, cooling, and ventilation systems; change filters.
  • Gather and empty trash.
  • Remove debris from outdoor porches, parking lot and dumpster area.
  • Ensure bathrooms are stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex, liquid soap.
  • Replace light bulbs throughout the community.
  • Clean suites with two residents twice a week.
  • Notify supervisor of major repairs/additions via maintenance log and housekeeping checklist.
Requirements
  • Education:

    High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One (1) year job‑related experience.
Skills & Abilities
  • Understanding of infection control procedures.
  • Ability to multitask and manage stress.
  • Understanding and embracing the assisted‑living philosophy.
  • Availability to work weekends, evenings and flexible hours.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
