Job Summary

As a Senior EVS Associate, you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and infection control throughout the facility. Your responsibilities include advanced cleaning tasks such as heavy‑duty floor care, carpet extraction, and project‑based work using power cleaning equipment. You will perform infection control procedures in clinical areas, respond to service requests through computerized systems, maintain accurate documentation, and support and train other associates while modeling excellent customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Respond promptly to all requests for cleaning services via computerized and paper‑based tracking systems.
  • Conduct requested cleaning work, including removal, replacement, and cleaning of equipment and furniture or areas.
  • Maintain task and infection–control logs of completed daily tasks and events required for the request‑tracking system.
  • Perform specialty cleaning and infection‑control functions in specialized areas such as clinical areas, surgical suites, Cath labs, specialty rooms, and sterile areas.
  • Conduct specialized gowning and cleaning procedures for infectious elements in isolation rooms.
  • Maintain proper infection‑control cleaning standards at all times, including hand‑hygiene requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness and operational functioning of department equipment; notify appropriate personnel of needed repairs.
  • Assess environmental conditions to ensure the facility is neat, clean, safe, and orderly; anticipate and resolve clutter and safety issues.
  • Exercise judgment in deciding which problems require immediate supervisor referral.
  • Provide leadership for less experienced associates; assist with on‑the‑job training in cleaning techniques, chemical usage, supply restocking, and infection‑control procedures.
  • Perform scheduled floor‑care procedures, including dust mopping, mopping, stripping and refinishing, burnishing, and carpet extraction.
  • Calculate quantities and mix ratio of cleaning chemicals.
  • Work under regular supervision within the assigned facility, interacting with staff, physicians, nurses, patients, visitors, supervisors, managers, and executives.
Minimum Qualifications
  • One to two years of diversified environmental service work experience in a health‑care or institutional setting.
  • Working knowledge of operating typical industrial cleaning equipment and appropriate cleaning techniques for healthcare environments.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills for giving instructions and providing information.
  • Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to accomplish assigned work despite frequent interruptions and changing priorities, multitasking across several projects.
  • Proficiency in customer service skills, safe work practices, and infection‑control, including hand‑hygiene.
  • For positions at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, and BUMG/BUMCT/BUMCS in a children's behavioral health setting, an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and an Arizona Criminal History Affidavit are required at hire and throughout employment.
  • For positions at Olive Branch Senior Center, an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card is required at hire and throughout employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic computer skills are helpful.
  • Previous related experience and familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques.
  • Additional related education and/or experience.
