The Air Instrument Technician Associate is distinguished from the Air Instrument Technician in that the Associate performs basic technical work that includes filter installation, filter collection, operation, and maintenance of sampling units during the week.
** The position is grant-funded and full-time at 30 hours per week, with scheduled work five days a week which includes frequent weekend and holiday schedules.

** We Require
*** One year of technical experience in electronics, mechanical repair, and maintenance
* High school diploma or GED
* Post-secondary education in
** electronics
* * may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis
** Other Requirements
*** Air Instrument Associates must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record by the time of hire
* Per the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Bio Watch Technicians need to be U.S. or Naturalized citizens of the United States of America and are required to successfully complete a DHS background check
* Bio Watch participants must pass a health physical and OSHA respirator certification within six months of hire and every year thereafter; if an emergent need arises, Air Instrument Associates staff not identified as Bio Watch may be sent for a physical
* Air Instrument Associates must complete certification in the USEPA 40-Hour Hazardous Materials Incident Response Operation Course within one year of hire date
