Non-Exempt, Full-time, Hourly ($18 - $20/hour)
Under the direction and leadership of the Facilities Manager & Maintenance Foreman, the Facilities Technician will work towards attaining maintenance goals and company objectives. Distinctive benefits for Great Hearts faculty:

Act as the primary contact for local personnel for any building issues. May include regular maintenance items, moving furniture, etc. Monitor/assist contractors and outside vendors performance to ensure work is completed according to specifications. Independently perform routine scheduled preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment. May act as the project coordinator for small construction and repair projects. Assist with maintaining building security and immediately responds to building emergencies on a as needed basis.
Solicit bids and quotes from vendors. Transport goods or equipment as needed. Perform routine quality control inspections of janitorial and landscaping subcontractors to ensure property is maintained properly. Arrange for new HVAC RTU air filters quarterly. Perform preventive maintenance check on all RTU’s. Create and/or maintain all numbers or identification for assigned location rooms and equipment Maintain logs for emergency equipment monthly.
Coordinate and monitor life safety inspections for annual, and all other system inspections. Have working knowledge of alarm panels and systems for drills and maintenance purposes. May need to repair locks, doors, gates and other egress related equipment or hardware. Attend department meetings as scheduled. Other duties as assigned.
Education/Certification:
HS Diploma required, Bachelor degree preferred. HVAC Certification preferred.
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in Facilities/Maintenance field. Special Skills Must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Possess the ability to work in conjunction with internal and external partners. Be a self-starter with a heart of service and a strong sense of drive and urgency to meet established goals.
Type of fingerprint clearance:
Must possess or obtain valid Arizona Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance card. Equipment used:
May need to possess basic tools to perform duties. Specialty tools with be provided. Physical functions:
Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May work in confined spaces and on top of buildings or structures. Will be exposed to inclement weather. May be required to move or position equipment up to 100 pounds approximately.
Travel required:
May need to travel locally to the various academies within the Phoenix Metro area. Must have reliable transportation. Valid Arizona driver license required. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.
