Position: BUILDING MAINTENANCE WORKER @ CAMELBACK

Building Maintenance Worker

The Building Maintenance Worker maintains the physical integrity of facilities by performing custodial, groundskeeper, semi-skilled building maintenance, and repair duties.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs general campus, buildings, grounds, and custodial maintenance and repairs
  • Checks and monitors heating and cooling units
  • Power washes sidewalks and building exteriors
  • Clears walkways
  • Operates security alarm systems
  • Orders, receives, controls, and issues maintenance supplies and equipment
  • Paints classrooms and other areas
  • Performs grounds maintenance and landscaping duties
  • Maintains and supervises daily campus activities and maintenance staff in the absence of the Campus Facility Supervisor

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Two years of building maintenance or custodial experience
  • A valid Arizona State Driver's License

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required:

  • Skill in performing general preventative and corrective building and grounds repairs and maintenance
  • Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment
  • Ability to follow established safety policies, procedures, and practices
  • Skill in planning, prioritizing, and completing assignments with minimum supervision
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to provide excellent customer experiences
  • Commitment to create and sustain a thriving learning and working environment for students and staff
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to use initiative within organizational policies, procedures and guidelines

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

  • Work is performed throughout campuses and District facilities, both indoors and outdoors
  • Work requires exposure to hot and cold temperatures, potentially dangerous tools and equipment, and hazardous chemicals
  • Physical ability to perform all of the essential functions
  • May be required to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
