Description
The custodian maintains a clean working environment for all staff and visitors, ensuring all areas are safe.
** Custodians will train at the downtown location, and then move to Senior Haven once opened**
Provide routine cleaning of dorms, apartments, offices and common areas:
- Clean and sanitize all restrooms; stock areas with supplies such as hand soap, paper towels and toilet paper;
- Clean, mop, wash, buff and vacuum floors;
- Dust, clean and polish furniture and fixtures;
- Empty all trash and remove to outside dumpsters;
- Clean windows;
- Maintain outside areas and parking lot as directed, sweeping debris and washing walkways;
- Report malfunction of bathroom fixtures, light fixtures, and/or damages to room and dorm furnishings to supervisor and initiate work orders for repair / maintenance;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Follow all safety procedures for equipment and job functions and use personal protective equipment;
- Use chemicals per OSHA and MSDS regulations;
- Perform routine safety inspections on equipment;
- Clean spills using blood born pathogen kits and/or OSHA approved spill kits.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and reaching all day. The employee must frequently lift and carry items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The duties of this job frequently expose the employee to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
- Minimum age of 18;
- Have the ability to obtain a State of Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card;
- PASS DRUG SCREEN
. (NEED MEDICAL CARD FOR POSITIVE RESULTS) - Basic computer proficiency.
- CPR-First Aid certification within 90 days of employment;
- Naloxone (Narcan) training within 90 days of employment.
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
