Automotive Detailer
An automotive detailer is responsible for thoroughly cleaning and restoring the appearance of vehicles, both interior and exterior, by using specialized cleaning products and techniques to achieve a high-quality finish, including washing, waxing, buffing, vacuuming, upholstery cleaning, and applying protective coatings, while maintaining excellent customer service and adhering to company quality standards; essentially ensuring vehicles look their best for sale or customer use.
The essential functions listed below represent the primary duties of the position. Duties may vary based on assignment and business needs.
- Cleans interior and exterior of vehicles, performing any combination of following duties:
Wash vehicle exterior using cleaning solution, water, cloths and brushes - Vacuum/Clean interior of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris, using vacuum cleaner or air hose
- Cleans upholstery, rugs and other surfaces, using cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices
- Cleans engine and engine compartment and various cleaning agents to remove grease and debris
- Applies special purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials utilizing experience and following recommendations of product manufacturer
- Applies wax and/or uses buffing equipment as required
- All other cleaning of vehicles as needed or directed
Education, training, and/or equivalent experience required for the role
Relevant experience in a manufacturing, production, or professional environment
Required technical, mechanical, or professional skills
Required certifications or licenses, if applicable
Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures
Strong attention to detail and quality standards
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Effective communication and problem-solving skills
