Job Summary

Substitute Custodian at El Rancho Unified School District. Part‑time, hourly rate $22.57 per hour. Work year of 12 months. On call as needed. Hours may vary.

• Maintain assigned school building or office space clean and orderly under supervision.
• Sweep, scrub, mop, wax, polish floors; vacuum rugs and carpets; dust and polish furniture and woodwork.
• Wash windows and walls; clean chalkboards; polish metal work.
• Perform minor repairs on custodial equipment.
• Move and arrange equipment and set up auditorium or classrooms for special events or meetings.
• Replace lights; adjust shades, blinds, desks, and other furniture; clean venetian blinds.
• Raise and lower flag; unlock and lock doors and gates; set alarm system.

• Knowledge of basic methods, supplies, and tools used in custodial work.
• Ability to learn schedules, procedures, and equipment; work well with faculty and coworkers; perform general custodial and simple maintenance work.
• Can perform moderately heavy manual labor; understand and carry out oral and written directions.
• None required; persons with the knowledge and abilities as stated are considered to have the necessary education.
