Position DescriptionThe role is responsible for performing general cleaning and disinfecting of the agency’s buildings to keep them looking clean and professional and assisting the maintenance technician team lead on general maintenance of the agency facilities.
Duties / Responsibilities Custodial- Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors daily.
- Clean light fixtures, windows, walls, woodwork, furniture and any other area that may need attention.
- Periodic deep clean of fabric chairs or shampoo carpets.
- Clean and sanitize all office space, bathrooms and public areas daily.
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
- Stock restrooms with supplies.
- Collect and dispose of trash.
- Wax and polish floors.
- Clean up spills using appropriate infection control techniques and the proper equipment.
- Adhere to agency’s safety policies to create a safe work environment.
- Notify supervisors of major issues or repairs needed.
- Survey building to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and ensure the custodian’s room is orderly.
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Assists the Facilities/Maintenance Lead and acts as backup in:
- Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Complying with all regulatory requirements for the facilities, and assist when inspections are conducted, along with any follow-up.
- Ensuring the building is safe and secure, and that equipment and systems are well-maintained.
- Ensuring state compliance codes are met and buildings meet health and safety standards, government regulations, and energy efficiency requirements.
- Managing maintenance supply orders and ensuring efficient building operation cost.
- Maintaining the outdoor grounds, landscape of the facilities.
- Snow removal from sidewalks and parking lots.
- Renovating facility infrastructure as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
- Detail-oriented and thorough.
- Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance.
- Ability to keep the school clean and orderly.
- Ability to interact with staff, students, parents, and visitors at school while remaining professional, polite, and courteous.

- High school diploma or equivalency.
- One year experience performing similar duties.
- Currently hold OSHA-10 certification or ability to obtain OSHA-10 certification within six months of hire.
- Requires periods of moving throughout the office and traveling to other locations within the community/designated coverage area.
- Prolonged periods standing.
- Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Exposure to contaminants and hazardous chemicals.
