ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Performs routine custodial activities at assigned District school site; sweeps, scrubs, mops, waxes and polishes floors and vacuums rugs and carpets in classrooms, offices, workshops and other assigned work areas; spot cleans and shampoos carpets.
- Cleans classrooms, restrooms, locker rooms, shops, cafeteria, offices and related facilities as assigned; sweeps, mops and cleans gymnasium floor as assigned; spot mops spills and removes gum and debris; cleans tables, chairs and floors after lunch periods as assigned.
- Cleans and disinfects drinking fountains, sinks, toilets, showers and urinals; cleans mirrors, tile and windows.
- Reports safety, sanitary and fire hazards to appropriate authority; reports and recommends maintenance repairs; maintains security of buildings; reports suspicious or unauthorized individuals on campus; reports infractions of rules to supervisor.
- Picks up and rakes paper, trash and debris around school grounds and in buildings; sweeps and cleans walkways and entrances; disposes of trash according to established procedures; washes out trash cans and follows established sanitation procedures and standards.
- Operates cleaning equipment such as vacuum, floor stripper, cleaner, buffer, polisher, carpet shampooer, scrubber, high‑pressure sprayer, manual and power sweepers and power blowers as assigned.
- Responds to emergency cleanups such as spills; maintains records of observed maintenance, repair needs and safety issues.
- Participates in major summer cleaning projects as assigned.
- Reflects on practice and makes adjustments for professional growth.
- Maintains professionalism with staff members.
- Reports to the proper authorities any cases of suspected child endangerment, neglect, or abuse.
- Reports suspected bullying to the building principal or designee as required by Arkansas law and district policies.
- Adheres to all policies of the District.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal or Assistant Principal.
