Overview
Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an immediate opening for a Part‑Time Housekeeper / Set‑Up Team Member at the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland. The Housekeeper/Set‑Up Team Member is responsible for performing work as needed to efficiently clean, maintain, and prepare for events and other day‑to‑day needs in keeping with standards of a first‑class facility. This includes setting, striking, and staging tables, chairs, air walls, barricades, pipe and drape, dance floor, and other event‑related inventory, as well as preventative maintenance, cleaning, and replenishment of supplies.
The role also covers operating machinery such as utility vehicles, compactors, scrubbers, sweepers, snow machines, pallet jacks, and other motorized material handling equipment as trained and authorized. Full time 2nd shift: 2:30pm – 11:00pm, $18.75/HR.
- Perform various event‑related tasks efficiently before, during, and after events, including setting and striking of tables, chairs, staging, air walls, barricades, pipe and drape, dance floor, and other event‑related inventory.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, wax, vacuum, and clean all surfaces, and operate trash and recycling compactors as directed.
- Clean, dust, and maintain various areas throughout the facility.
- Keep supervisor and manager informed on status of work, review work orders, and complete tasks as assigned within the provided time period.
- Maintain supply rooms and equipment orderly and use equipment and supplies as instructed.
- Assist with proper storage of all event‑related equipment.
- Assist with cleaning and minor maintenance of all housekeeping machinery and equipment.
- Perform deep cleaning and housekeeping projects such as carpet extraction, floor stripping, sanitization, waste removal, window cleaning, bathroom cleaning, and other projects as directed.
- Report damages to equipment in a timely manner to supervisor.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, storage rooms, and other areas of the facility.
- Maintain inventory logs and department checklists as directed.
- Maintain good and effective relationships with staff.
- Adhere to all facility rules, regulations, safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Perform tasks related to handling mail and/or other deliveries to the loading dock area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Six months’ experience within housekeeping or custodial preferred.
- Familiarity with basic cleaning products, tools, and housekeeping practices.
- Experience in a similar facility setting preferred but not required.
- Maintain a driver’s license or have willingness and ability to obtain for required equipment operation.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate via radio.
- Maintain professional appearance.
- Perform routine and repetitive housekeeping and event set‑up tasks without immediate supervision.
- Take direction and complete assigned tasks accurately and on time.
- Operate various cleaning machines and equipment within the center.
- Work both as part of a team and independently without direct supervision.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends as dictated by event activity.
This position requires duties to be completed in an indoor setting ranging from quiet and noisy atmospheres to outdoor settings with exposure to adverse weather conditions. It involves exposure to temperature changes, dust, dirt, cleaning agent odors, loud noise, heavy crowds of people, and other working conditions expected within a public forum. The role also requires consistent walking and standing, climbing stairs frequently, kneeling consistently, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling items weighing up to approximately 40lb, reaching above and below waist level frequently, and frequent use of vision, hearing, and speech for public communication.
Hoursof Work and Travel Requirements
Work hours vary and are based on business needs. Shift hours and days will vary and may include irregular, extended hours including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must be available to work weekends; all assigned shifts will be structured accordingly.
