Job SummaryThe Master Floor Technician in a hotel or casino setting is responsible for supervising and executing comprehensive floor care and maintenance to ensure a pristine, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and staff. This role involves leading a team of floor technicians, maintaining meticulous floor standards in high-traffic and guest-facing areas, and promoting a high level of cleanliness and safety throughout the property.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee the day-to-day floor care operations including sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and polishing floors across all guest and public areas such as lobbies, corridors, gaming floors, restaurants, and event spaces.
- Train EVS team members in proper floor care techniques, use of equipment, and adherence to safety and sanitation protocols specific to hotel and casino environments.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hospitality quality standards to maintain a polished and guest-ready floor appearance.
- Perform regular inspections of floors and floor care equipment, addressing issues promptly to prevent accidents or operational disruptions.
- Coordinate work schedules to ensure all floor care needs are met efficiently and effectively, especially during peak guest hours.
- Maintain inventory of floor care supplies, monitoring usage, and report to management the need for more supplies.
- Collaborate with EVS management and other hotel departments to coordinate cleaning activities minimizing impact on guest experience.
- Respond promptly to spills, stains, or other floor-related emergencies to uphold safety and cleanliness.
- Encourage a team culture focused on excellence, attention to detail, and proactive maintenance.
- Assist in other EVS duties as required to support overall property cleanliness and hygiene.
- Proven experience in floor care and maintenance, ideally within hospitality, hotel, or casino settings.
- Knowledge of specialized floor care products and equipment suited for high-traffic commercial areas.
- Understanding of hospitality industry cleanliness standards and guest service expectations.
- Strong communication, organizational, and team management skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure continuous floor care coverage.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Capacity to lift and carry equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds.
Comfortable working in fast-paced, guest-focused environments requiring discretion and professionalism.
