Overview
AV BUILD TECHNICIAN (AV, Network and Related Residential Automation). Room to grow, rooted in the Bay Area. Chamberlux Automata is seeking an AV Build Technician to join our team with confidence and a strong electronics/technology background, aligned with a career built on tradecraft and conscientiousness.
From day one, you would present yourself confidently to other trades and homeowners. This role requires 5 to 8 years of experience in AV, with full support from the team and access to the resources and tool stack needed to perform effectively. We encourage input to continually improve operational expectations and procedures.
Responsibilities- Absorb the design intent and client expectations for project completion, then work backwards to achieve it in a timely manner.
- Daily communication with the project team to evaluate progress and plan accordingly.
- Maintain familiarity with the scope of work and project documentation guiding coordination with other team members and trades.
- Implement the specified systems onsite: cabling, installation, testing, configuration.
- Field onsite coordination needs and document disputes/resolutions in project documentation.
- Prepare materials needed for upcoming work.
- Maintain project documentation accuracy (Asana ongoing task updates) on a daily basis.
- Complete the physical scope of the project, including commissioning and punch list items.
- Manage small service and support requests alongside larger project schedules.
- Attend and contribute to regular production meetings.
- Documented experience in all mandatory skills; conversational familiarity with all desired skills.
- Industry certification from AVIXA, CEDIA, and/or 8 years in the industry with 5 years in a similar role.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage own time and workload effectively.
- Maintains professionalism internally and externally.
- Clean driver’s license.
- Condensed work week:
Monday - Thursday, 40 hours. Overtime as needed/authorized. 40 hours are not guaranteed, but bench time is rare.
- Starting hourly range: $35 to $50 (dependent on experience).
