3rd Shift Floor Technician

The Floor Technician, under the direction of the Janitorial Supervisor or Manager, is responsible for performing specialized floor care tasks including floor stripping, waxing, and carpet and upholstery extraction. Quality customer service and attention to detail are essential. Experience or willingness to learn proper floor care techniques is required.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform floor stripping, waxing, and buffing on various hard floor surfaces
• Operate floor care equipment such as auto scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, and extractors
• Perform carpet and upholstery cleaning using extraction methods
• Follow proper chemical labeling, dilution, and usage procedures
• Maintain floor care equipment in a clean, safe, and operable condition
• Ensure floor surfaces are safe and presentable for daily operations
• Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment at all times
• Maintain janitor and equipment storage areas in a clean and organized manner
• Assist with other cleaning or maintenance duties as needed

Requirements (Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Education and/or Experience):

• Six months or more of floor care or janitorial experience preferred
• Valid Driver's License is a plus
• Experience with floor machines and extraction equipment is a plus
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
• Attention to detail and a strong work ethic

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
• Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and equipment
