Custodians and Food Service Workers

Responsibilities of a Substitute Custodian

• Perform maintenance duties before, during, and after school hours and during school vacations
• Clean all areas of school buildings according to district standards, including floors, windows, furniture, restrooms, and more; remove trash and recycling
• Deliver supplies and materials to appropriate areas of the building
• Complete all grounds keeping duties
• Perform other duties as directed by the head custodian and school administration

Responsibilities of a Food Service Worker

• Perform all duties assigned by the head cook/school administration in the selection, preparation, and serving of food
• Maintain a clean and safe food service environment; perform sanitation duties to ensure that all equipment is thoroughly cleaned according to state regulations
• Store, utilize, and dispose of food and supplies following federal, state, local, and district regulations
• Assist with the accurate keeping of records and ordering of supplies

Qualifications

• Must be proficient in English (speaking, reading, writing)
• Custodian and Food Service:
  Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
• PA Nursing License (if applicable)
• PA Department of Education Form 6004:
  Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification
  - Act 24
• PA State Police Criminal History Clearance
  - Act 34
• Federal Criminal History Clearance
  - Act 114
• Mandated Child Abuse Reporter Training
  - Act 126
• Child Abuse Clearance
  - Act 151
• Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release
  - Act 168
• Tuberculosis Test/Physical
