This position provides essential cleaning and sanitation services that support the health, comfort, and safety of residents and staff throughout the facility. The role includes deep cleaning, general upkeep, and assisting with daily facility needs. As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:

• Deep Cleaning: Perform thorough sanitizing of resident rooms, common areas, offices, and specialized spaces
• General Upkeep: Clean floors, walls, fixtures, and furnishings using proper methods and equipment
• Restroom Care: Sanitize restrooms and restock supplies such as soap, paper products, and trash bags
• Waste Removal: Empty trash containers, dispose of waste properly, and handle recyclable and infectious materials
• Equipment Handling: Move furniture, clean mobility equipment, and use cleaning chemicals safely
• Facility Support: Assist with snow removal, supply delivery, and training of new employees when needed

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Temporary full-time employment, 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week
• This is a temporary six-month position with the possibility to be hired as a permanent full-time employee.
• Work hours are 3rd shift (9:00 PM to 5:00 AM), Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Hourly Rate: In some cases, the hourly rate may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications Additional Requirement:

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

• Willing and able to work in Allegheny County, PA
• Experience as a custodian, janitor, or cleaning person (experience may include cleaning restrooms, resident rooms, offices, or public areas; mopping, scrubbing, dusting, sweeping, and buffing)
• Experience interacting with patients or residents while cleaning inpatient and resident rooms or in a dining room setting
• Experience cleaning bodily fluids and disposing of infectious waste in proper storage areas

Legal Requirements:

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
