Custodial Worker ; 1st Shift - Selinsgrove Center

Position Overview

Are you a dependable, hardworking individual who takes pride in a job well done? As a Custodial Worker 1 with the Department of Human Services at the Selinsgrove Center, you will help maintain clean and welcoming spaces that support the needs of residents, staff, and visitors. You will work in a rural location just outside the Borough of Selinsgrove, close to town, schools, and Susquehanna University.

This position helps maintain clean, safe, and orderly environments throughout the Selinsgrove Center.

Responsibilities include:

• Facility Cleaning:
  Maintain bedrooms, bathrooms, hallways, and other areas using proper cleaning tools and techniques.
• Equipment Operation:
  Use mechanical cleaning equipment safely and store it correctly after use.
• Chemical Safety:
  Select and apply appropriate cleaning products according to guidelines and safety sheets.
• Hazard Removal:
  Clear entrance areas of snow, ice, and water to prevent accidents.
• Furniture Movement:
  Move furniture and equipment as needed to support cleaning tasks.
• Supply Requests:
  Request and maintain needed cleaning supplies to support daily responsibilities.

• Full‑time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM on a rotating schedule, which includes 4 to 5 weekends per year and a 30‑minute lunch break.
• Overtime and travel as needed.
• Telework is not available for this position.
• Starting salary may be non‑negotiable in some cases.

• Valid driver’s license that is not under suspension.
• Ability to perform essential job functions.

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
• Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to PA State Police and FBI clearance.
