Assistant Custodian

Job Title

Qualifications:

A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent (highly desirable). NJ valid motor vehicle operator's license (highly desirable). NJ Boiler's License Black Seal, Low Pressure (highly desirable). Any boiler license must be obtained within date of hire. Maintains a neat, well-manicured, clean appearance. One year or more of progressively responsible experience in a custodial or in building trades (highly desirable).

Physical capacity to handle heavy moving and lifting (50 lbs. or more). Willingness to work overtime/weekend/shifts. Demonstrates good moral character and initiative and has excellent integrity. Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary. Exhibits essential physical and mental capabilities in the following: interpersonal skills, memory, attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, compression, calculating, reading, writing, speaking, evaluating, mathematics, organization and innovation.

Relates well with staff and administration. Experience using power equipment and hand tools, buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc. Salary starting at: $49,976.00.
