Direct maintenance of facility buildings, grounds, and equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIESSupport all manufacturing operations.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including shutdowns, some holidays, and weekends if necessary.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a proactive maintenance program that delivers high levels of equipment uptime.
- Initiate and maintain contact with outside vendors when troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Maintain a clean and organized shop area:
- Maintain inventory of the necessary lubricants, cleaners, and maintenance supplies.
- Identify, propose, and work closely with purchasing, engineering, technical, and manufacturing staff to initiate projects that support the plant's continuous improvement efforts in Safety, Quality, and Productivity.
- Regularly schedule preventive maintenance for plant, equipment, and systems.
- Rebuild equipment.
- Plumb and maintain water systems.
- Install, repair, and maintain vacuum systems.
- Perform necessary carpentry tasks.
- Perform regular facility inspections – address needs as they arise.
- Build, repair, and replace equipment safeguards.
- Work within budgetary constraints.
- Maintain process water cooling system.
- Maintain hazardous waste area.
- Implement and maintain predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
- Track, monitor, and reduce equipment downtime.
- Work with the Safety Committee on all safety-related projects, including electrical & mechanical safety, safe working practices, and periodic testing programs.
- Work with contractors to ensure work is completed in compliance with Company Health and Safety requirements and other policies.
- Prepare, review, and implement work instructions.
- Work with the Safety Committee on compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
- Ensure appropriate tools/equipment and PPE are available to direct temporary labor, contractors, and other department employees, enabling efficient and safe task completion.
- Create and maintain preventative maintenance and repair records.
- Support a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork
- Perform other accountabilities as assigned
- Direct temporary labor, contractors, and other department employees on maintenance-related tasks as required
- Work experience in a manufacturing maintenance position with a proven track record is preferred
- Strong awareness of maintenance, safety, and quality principles (predictive maintenance, Lean manufacturing, etc.)
- At least 2 years’ experience electrical/ Mechanical/ Welding
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Computer literate, able to effectively use MS Office (Word, Excel, Project) software.
- Familiarity with ISO
9000 quality systems. - This is a hands-on position; must be able to support the Maintenance team with troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair tasks
